Dong Hongchuan:

Between July 21 ^st and 23 ^rd, 2007, Professor Dong participated in the “International Academic Symposium on American Poetry in 20 ^th Century” hosted by Huazhong Normal University, and presented the theme speech Eliot and his Classics.

Between Oct. 14 ^th and 17 ^th, 2008, Professor Dong participated in the evaluation of the projects funded by National Social Science Foundation in Beijing.

Between Nov. 8 ^th and 10 ^th, 2008, Professor Dong participated in the “International Academic Symposium on Literature and Environment” in Huazhong Normal University, Wuhan.

Liao Qiyi:

In November 2007, Professor Liao participated in the “5th Annual Meeting of Chongqing Translation Association” and was again elected as the director of the Council.

Between May 22nd and 25th, 2008, Professor Liao participated in the “Contact Meeting of the Heads from Translation Departments of China” and the “7th National Conference & International Forum on Interpreting” in Guangzhou.

Wang Yin:

Between June 21st and 25th, 2007, Professor Wang participated in the “3rd China Forum of English Experts”hosted by Yan’an University and delivered his speech The Explanatory Power of Embodied and Conceptualized Semantic View.

Between Jan. 11th and 12th, 2008, Professor Wang attended the “International Symposium on Western Linguistic Philosophy and the Conference on the Establishment of Sino-western Linguistic Philosophy Association” hosted by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and delivered his speech.

Zhao Yanchuan:

Between June 21st and 25th, 2007, Professor Zhao attended the “3rd China Forum of English Experts”hosted by Yan’an University and delivered his speech.

During the beginning days of August 2007, Professor Zhao attended the “National Symposium on English Language and Literature” hosted by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press in Qingdao, and delivered his speech From Essence to Essence—— the Deep Rule of Linguistic Studies.

Yang Quanhong:

Between July 22nd and August 20th, 2007, Professor Yang had an academic visit to the University of Edinburgh.

Between May 15th and 18th, 2008, Professor Yang attended the “International Symposium on Fu Lei and Translation” and addressed his paper On the Spirit of Translator Fu Lei.

Luo Xiaoyun:

Between August 2006 and August 2007, Professor Luo Went on an academic visit to the United States and attended the Annual Meeting of American Literature Association in Boston in May 2007.

Between Oct. 27th and 29th, 2008, Professor Luo attended the 9th Annual Meeting of China Foreign Literature Association and presented his paper Tim O’Brien’s War Novel in group discussion.

Hou Guojin:

On April 3rd, 2007, Professor Hou attended the special seminar on Construal Grammar of 2nd Cognitive Linguistics Forum in Chongqing University, and made a speech on the Hierarchy of Meta-language.

In March 2008, Professor Hou attended the Seminar of Foreign Language Experts in Chongqing.

Zhang Tao:

In Nov. 2006, Professor Zhang attended the “International Symposium on American Studies and Sino-American Relationship” hosted by Hongkong University.

Between June 17th and 20th, 2008, Professor Zhang attended the “International Symposium on American Studies” in Beijing, and addressed at the tile of Internationalization of American Studies: Reality or Mirage. The motivation of the Symposium is to promote the mutual understanding between American and Chinese people through the communication of two country’s experts.
